BIDDEFORD — Robert J. Paquette, 91, of Biddeford, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018 at St. Andre’s Healthcare Facility.
He was born July 2, 1927 in St. Honore, P.Q. Canada, a son of Edmond and Annie (Begin) Paquet. Robert came to this area as a child and had been educated both here and in Canada.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Adirondack during World War II. He and his brothers received their diplomas at Waterhouse Field with the Biddeford High School, Class of 2002.
On June 24, 1950, he married Alice Roy at St. Andre’s Church.
He had been employed as a master plumber at A.F. Letellier & Sons/Division Provencher and retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in 1993. In 1995, in his “retirement” he worked as a plumber and maintenance man in Biddeford School system, again retiring in June of 2014.
Preceding him in death were three sisters, Desneige Frechette, Bernadette Houde and Annette Desruisseaux and five brothers; Rene, Armand, Real, Gerard and Lucien Paquette.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Alice Paquette of Biddeford; a daughter Gail Lemieux of Biddeford; two sons, Gary Paquette of Saco and Randy Paquette and his wife Carole of Biddeford; two brothers, John Paquette of Saco and Antoino Paquet of Biddeford; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
There will be no visiting hours. Services will be at a later date. Inurnment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.
