BIDDEFORD POOL — Ronald Lindsay Peaker, 82 years, a resident of Biddeford Pool, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Ron was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on April 16, 1936, a son of the late Dr. Charles Ronald and Dorothy Alice (Van Horne) Peaker.
He graduated from Naugatuck (Connecticut) High School in 1953; the University of Vermont in 1957 and received a Master of Business Degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1959. In 1995 he received a CSS degree from Harvard University.
Mr. Peaker served with the United States Air Force as a Lieutenant from 1960 to 1963 when he joined the Ford Motor Company. During his 31 years with Ford, Mr. Peaker held a variety of management positions including the manager of Ford Parts and Service Divisions in Kansas City, Seattle, Milwaukee and Cincinnati District Offices. He was also the manager of the Technical Communications Department. Mr. Peaker retired from Ford in 1995.
In addition to his Ford experience, Mr. Peaker was a part-time instructor for Rollins College, Winter Park, Florida; the University of Maryland; and Henry Ford Community College, Dearborn, Michigan.
Following his retirement from Ford, Mr. Peaker served on the Biddeford School Committee; the policy committee of the Biddeford City Council; and the Biddeford Charter Commission as Vice Chairman.
Mr. Peaker was married to Barbara Jean Anderson of Naugatuck, Connecticut on Dec. 22, 1956 and enjoyed over 60 years of marriage until her death on Jan. 19, 2017.
Survivors include a daughter Deborah Lindsay Sells of Phoenix, Arizona and a son Douglas Andrew Peaker and his wife Kathleen of Biddeford; a sister Dottie Alexander of South Carolina; two grandchildren, Brenda Hanson and Brett Sells; a great-grandson Maverick Hanson and his doggie, Buster.
At his request there will be no visiting hours. Burial will be private.
