OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Noella Claudette Croteau passed away peacefully at her home on Oct. 3, 2018.  

She was born on Dec. 25, 1936 to Alfred and Rose Alma Bouthillette Croteau in Biddeford, Maine. She was educated at St. Joseph’s School in Biddeford.

She married Robert (Bob) JP Croteau on Sept. 14, 1957. They had two children, Michael Croteau and Judy Croteau Reny. She was employed at Bruce Shoe Shop in Biddeford, and at her family’s business Bob and Mikes Mini Mart in Saco.

Noella was an incredibly loving mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and sister.  She loved playing cards, games, attending mass at St. Joseph Church, and spending time with her extended family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid bowler and loved watching the game. She also enjoyed her almost daily visits to Saco & Biddeford Savings and her early morning breakfasts at Lucky Loggers Landing.

Noella is predeceased by her parents, her husband of 60 years, Bob Croteau, who passed away on May 8, 2018. Three brothers Roland, Renald, and Lionel. Two sisters, Blanche Dauphin and Irene Boucher.

Surviving is her son Michael Croteau and his wife Pam of Old Orchard Beach, daughter Judy Reny and her husband Michael of Saco, one sister Lorraine Lessard of Biddeford, granddaughters Jessica Yeaton and her husband Mathew of Saco and Jennifer Morin and her husband James of Biddeford, three great-granddaughters, Madison and Abigail Yeaton, and Zoe Morin. Surviving her are also several nieces and nephews.

The family of Noella would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of Southern Maine for their compassionate care. Sue Descoteaux for her support in helping to take care of Noella. To Lorraine Lessard for her unending show of love and constant presence for both Noella and Bob. Dorothy Hebert and Doris Lapierre for their time and support. Her family would also like to thank all of Noella’s friends at Lucky Loggers Landing and Saco and Biddeford Savings Bank.

A Catholic Mass will be held on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford.
