LEWISTON — Ethan Rac scored the tying goal with 7:32 remaining in regulation as Mt. Ararat played defending State Class A champion Lewiston to a 1-1 boys high school soccer Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference deadlock on Saturday on Don Roux Field.

The Eagles are 9-1-1 heading into Tuesday’s home contest with Mt. Blue (3:30 p.m.), while the Blue Devils are still unbeaten at 10-0-2.

Cooper Millett gave Lewiston a 1-0 lead 8:45 into the second half. Mt. Ararat goaltender James Singleton (10 saves) stopped a Blue Devil penalty kick, with Millett cleaning up the rebound.

The tying goal came off an assist from Travis Nadeau.

“It’s a huge tie, worth a lot of points,” said Mt. Ararat coach Jack Rioux, whose squad’s only loss came in the second game of the season in a 2-0 home setback to the Blue Devils.

Hall-Dale 8

Alec Byron had four goals to lead the Bulldogs to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Farmingdale.

Matt Albert added a goal and three assists for Hall-Dale (11-0), while Josh Nadeau added a goal and two assists. Ashtyn Abbott and Akira Warren rounded out the scoring. Sam Sheaffer made six saves.

Rowan Kristan had both goals for the Wolverines, with an assist each going to Garrett Cossette and Bayly Gaughan-Carrasco. Wiscasset/Boothbay goaltenders Caleb Gabriele and LJ Travis combined on 20 stops.

The Wolverines host Telstar Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Vinalhaven 2
Richmond 9

Dakotah Gilpatric and Andrew Vachon scored three goals apiece, leading the Bobcats to the East-West Conference win in Richmond.

Gilpatric and Vachon added a pair of assists for Richmond (7-3-1), while Mitch Couturier (assist), Nick Adams (assist) and Justin Vachon had the other goals. Cole Alexander had two assists, Ben Gardner had one and Kyle Underhill-Tilton made three saves.

Keaton Lear and Trenton Alley had the goals for Vinalhaven (3-6), while Joe Hopkins made 13 saves.

Richmond returns to action Wednesday at Valley (4 p.m.).

Girls soccer

AUBURN — With a big KVAC showdown looming on Tuesday against Camden Hills, Brunswick took care of business on Friday, downing Edward Little, 5-0.

Marley Groat, Charlotte MacMillan, Isabella Banks, Alexis Guptil and Alex Bunker scored for the 10-0-1 Dragons, with assists from MacMillan, Bailey Hartill (two) and Emily Larochelle.

Brunswick keepers Aisley Snell and Beth Labbe combined on nine saves, while EL goaltender Kayleigh Leclerc turned away six shots.

The Dragons and Windjammers meet at Camden Hill at 3:30 p.m.

Vinalhaven 0
Richmond 12

Abby Johnson scored three goals and Caitlin Kendrick added two as the Bobcats rolled to the E-WC victory in Richmond.

Bry Shea also scored two goals as Richmond improved to 9-1-1.

Maria Davis had 14 saves for the Vikings (1-9-0).

The Bobcats visit Valley on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Field hockey

WALES — Zoe Buteau and Adelle Surette each scored twice to pace Oak Hill to the 6-2 Mountain Valley Conference.

Desiree Dumais and Mikayla Cutt also scored for Oak Hill (9-5). Mackenzie Thibeault stopped five shots.

Mallory Fairbanks and Sydney Plourde scored for Lisbon (5-8), and Becky Budesheim made 16 saves.

The Greyhounds were slated to host Spruce Mountain this morning.

Football

YORK — Teagan Hynes passed for 305 yards and three touchdowns to lead York (3-3) past Morse (3-3) on Friday night.

Hynes connected with Noah Caramihalis for a 23-yard score in the first quarter to give York a 7-0 lead.

Austin Baltazar answered with 1-yard run in the second quarter, but Morse missed the extra point.

Hynes then found Colin Edminster for a 25-yard TD later in the second quarter and threw another scoring pass to Jake Nelson in the third.

Austin Baltazar ran for 201 yards on 32 carries for Morse, putting him at 1,100 yards through six games. Corey Larmon chipped in 37 yards on the ground and finished 6-of-10 in the air for 77 yards. Ty Knowlton, Gabe Aucoin and Mason Savary were his targets.

On defense, Knowlton led the way with six tackles, followed by Lukas Osterhout, Ihsan Myers and Savary with five each.

Morse hosts Leavitt this upcoming Friday at 7 p.m.

Mt.  Ararat 6

At the Topsham Fairgrounds on Saturday, Nick Mancini threw two touchdown passes to Evan Lovley and one to Brady Douglas as the Yachtsmen (4-2) opened a 35-0 halftime lead in a win over the Eagles (1-5).

Mt. Ararat, which hosts Westbrook this upcoming Saturday at 11 a.m., scored in the fourth quarter on a Hunter Lohr run.

Douglas and Coleman Allen also rushed for first-half touchdowns for Falmouth, and Riley Reed added a 50-yard scoring run in the third quarter.

Reed finished with 133 rushing yards on eight carries.
