ALFRED — Carol Sharrow, who was charged with manslaughter in connection with the hit-and-run death of Douglas Parkhurst of West Newfield after her car careened around a ballfield during a June Babe Ruth ballgame now faces more than a dozen other charges.
A York County Grand Jury earlier this week handed up a 15-count indictment against Sharrow, 51, of Sanford.
As well as manslaughter, the indictment charges elevated aggravated assault, driving to endanger, leaving the scene of an accident and 11 counts of reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.
She is scheduled for arraignment Wednesday at York County Superior Court in Alfred.
Police said Sharrow was driving her maroon Honda on Roberts Street on June 1 before entering Goodall Park through the main gate and driving onto the field, where a game was being played. A video posted on Facebook that night by a witness shows players scattering as Sharrow careened around the field.
Police said Sharrow hit Parkhurst as she exited the ballpark, and kept driving. Parkhurst, 68, died on the way to the hospital.
Sharrow last appeared in court on June 4, when she was ordered by York County Superior Court Justice Wayne Douglas to undergo a mental health exam and to be held on $500,000 cash bail.
