BIDDEFORD — Anita T. Ouellette, 92, of Biddeford, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough with her family by her side. This was the 73rd anniversary of her marriage to her husband Joseph.
She was born May 27, 1926 in Biddeford a daughter of William and Melina (Tardif) Sylvestre, and was educated at St. Andre’s School and High School.
On Sept. 29, 1945 she married Joseph Charles Ouellette in St. Andre’s Church. She worked in the local textile mills for most of her career, retiring in 1985 after 15 years with Biddeford Textile.
Anita enjoyed being with her family and spending time with her grandchildren. Her pastimes included reading, gardening, family social activities and traveling.
She was preceded in death by Joseph, her husband of 52 years, on Sept. 8, 1998; she was also predeceased by two infant sons Joseph and Richard, brothers: Robert, Richard and Raymond Sylvestre and a sister Jeanine Ayris.
Anita is survived by two sons, Charles Ouellette and wife Hazel of Lakeland, Florida and Robert Ouellette and wife Mari of Biddeford; a daughter, Karen Malis and husband Steve of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren, Bill, Suellen, Nick, Greg, Melanie, Amy, and Michael; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visiting hours. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
