PORTLAND — Jeannine C. Frechette, 89, a long-time resident of Biddeford Pool and most recently The Gorham House, passed away on Sept. 12, 2018.
Jeannine was born in Clair, New Brunswick, Canada, a daughter of Claude and Clara Long. She married Andrew Frechette there in 1949. She was a full-time homemaker, raising their family of five while following Andrew’s lifelong career as an educator and school administrator in Caribou, Fort Kent, Winthrop and Biddeford. In earlier years, Jeannine enjoyed playing bridge, golf and skiing. She was a talented oil painter.
She was predeceased by Andrew, her husband of nearly 50 years; her parents; brother Robert ‘Jack’ Long and sister Gisele Long.
Jeannine is survived by her five children: Mona DeLois and husband Michael of Augusta; James Frechette and Cyndy Poray of Arundel; Linda Frechette; Janice Poisson and husband Steven of Waterboro; Connie LaRoche and husband Butch of Biddeford; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are two sisters, Yolande Leonard and Roberta Kremin.
Services at the request of the family were private, with burial following at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
