Editor,

In response to a recent Letter to the Editor, “Columnist deserves criticism for his skewed view”:

Donald Trump lost the popular vote by almost three MILLION votes. The fact that he (barely) won the Electoral Collage is a national travesty highlighting the undemocratic way that system works.

Mr. Haggett goes on to criticize President Obama for things he did and things that were done by others:

President Obama’s cutting back on military spending was right-sizing. We spend way too much on the military, which takes money away from more pressing domestic needs such as infrastructure repair and improvement, investment, needed social programs such as access to health care, a livable minimal standard of living, air that is breathable, water that is safe to drink, etc. The deficit took an initial hit due to temporary high spendings to recover from the depression and financial disaster that President Bush left us in, a situation that then improved over the course of Obama’s eight years.

The ACA has been helping people since its inception, and if it wasn’t for the demonstrable GOP sabotage, it would still be a success. I have not heard of any insurance carriers going out of business because of the ACA, only some carriers being created. Any that have subsequently folded is due to the aforementioned GOP sabotage. Same goes for inusrance premiums.

The “Bengazi debacle” was caused not by President Obama nor then-Secretary Of State Clinton. It was caused by, wait for it, the Republicans in Congress slashing the budget allocated for the State Department’s use of the U.S. Marines.

All of this has been documented and proven countless times.
