YARMOUTH — Caitlin Kendrick scored the tying goal with 15 minutes remaining in regulation to lift the Richmond High School girls soccer team into a 1-1 tie with North Yarmouth Academy on Monday.
Serena Mower gave the Panthers (5-2-1) a 1-0 lead four minutes into the second half.
Liz Johnson made seven saves for Richmond, which stands at 5-1-1 and visits Greater Portland Christian on Wednesday at 4 p.m. Carly Downing had six stops for NYA.
Golf
TOPSHAM — Mt. Ararat advanced to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A shootout on Thursday after downing Camden Hills on Monday in the South semifinals, 7 1/2-1 1/2.
The Eagles are a perfect 11-0 season.
Playing at Highland Green on Monday, Cade Charron (40), Willy Kavanaugh (41), Ben Hickson (45) and Eli Schoenberg (43) picked up a win each for Mt. Ararat.
At the No. 1 position, top state players Caleb Manuel of Mt. Ararat and Cole Anderson of Camden Hills halved their match, both shooting 3-under par 32s on the par-35 layout.
Windjammer Nate Johnson (49) earned a point, edging past Ty Henke, also shot 49 but dropped the match, 3-and-2.
The KVAC Shootout will be contested at Rockland Golf Club on Thursday at 2 p.m.
Field hockey
FREEPORT — Freeport tallied four goals in the first seven-plus minutes of the opening half for a 4-0 Western Maine Conference victory over Poland.
The Falcons improved to 8-2 and host Cape Elizabeth on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
Knights goaltender Ashton Sturtevant tried to keep her team in it, turning aside 11 shots.

Nora Buck, Lexi Lewis and Macie Larouche had two goals apiece to lead the Bulldogs (7-3) to the KVAC victory in Bath.
Larouche and Suttie had an assist, while Marian Zawistowski made nine saves.
Paige Willis and Vanessa St. Pierre had goals for Morse (5-4).
The Shipbuilders are slated to visit Maranacook on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Boothbay 4
The host Seahawks received all four of their goals from Chloe Arsenault en route to a Mountain Valley Conference win over Lisbon (4-5).
Arsenault gave Boothbay (3-7) a 3-0 halftime lead.
In the second half, Mallory Fairbanks put home a goal for the Greyhounds with 17 minutes left.
But Arsenault scored again off a setup from Cortney Meader.
Becky Budesheim had 13 saves in the Lisbon cage.
The Greyhounds visit Mountain Valley on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
