SACO — Albert N. Fortier, 81, of Saco died Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 at his home.
He was born Dec. 25, 1936 in Saco, a son of Joseph and Laura (Constant) Fortier and was educated in Saco schools.
On June 29, 1957 he married Pauline Plourde in Notre Dame de Lourdes Church. He had been employed at the Saco Tannery for 25 years and Pratt Whitney in North Berwick for 15 years, retiring in 1999. In his retirement he had also worked in the Saco Annex Post Office.
Albert enjoyed bowling, local and professional sports, traveling and working around his home.
Albert was predeceased by two brothers, Roland Fortier and Paul Fortier and 2 sisters, Mary Rose Dubois and Jean LeClaire.
He is survived by Pauline C. Fortier, his wife of 61 years of Saco; three daughters, Barbara A. Chase and husband Christopher of Wells, Bernadette L. Marcotte and husband Richard of Lyman, and Lynn M. Dominguez and husband Robert of Wells; a son, Thomas A. Fortier of Connecticut. a sister, Rosa Gerry and husband Jovis of Florida; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 24, 2018 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. in the Hope Chapel. Inurnment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
