YARMOUTH

Islandport Press has signed Maine writer and artist Charlotte Agell and will release her children’s board book, “Mud, Sand, and Snow,” in the spring of 2019.

“Mud, Sand, and Snow” is a celebration of the four seasons as a young girl explores, with her family and friends, mud in the spring, sand and wind in the summer, leaves and pumpkins in the fall, and the joys of snow in winter. Toddlers will enjoy listening to, and repeating, the easy rhyming text that invites them to use all their senses to experience the world changing around them, according to Islandport Press. They will feel grass tickling toes, hear bees buzzing, and see their breath steam in the cold of winter. Agell brings her light and airy watercolors to this joyful board book scheduled for release in April.

Inspired by a quartet of books about the seasons that Agell wrote and illustrated many years ago, this board book is aimed at toddlers.

Charlotte Agell is the author and illustrator of 12 books for children and young adults. Her newest picture book, “Maybe Tomorrow,” illustrated by Ana Ramirez, is scheduled to come out in March 2019. Originally from Sweden, Agell grew up in Canada and Hong Kong. She is the mother of two grown children. A longtime public school teacher, Charlotte says she loves living near the coast of Maine.
