TOPSHAM — Topsham Public Library is accepting submissions for our annual writing competition, The Joy of the Pen, until Saturday, Oct. 6. The Joy of the Pen is free to enter for yearround Maine residents, both amateur and professional. Prizes will be awarded in fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, Maine-related nonfiction, teen poetry and teen fiction. Submit entries at joyofthepen. topshamlibrary.org.

A reception is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, to announce winners.
