BATH — Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic musical “Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” returns to Bath for the first time since 2007 when The Chocolate Church Arts Center presents a series of September performances.
Many of the same performers who participated 11 years ago are returning. “Only an organization with the longevity of 41 years can welcome back a creative project such as this years later,” the center said in a news release.
The Chocolate Church Arts Center, 804 Washington St. in Bath, hosts 7:30 pm. performances on Fridays and Saturdays, Sept. 7-8 and 14-15,anda2p.m.Sunday matinees Sept. 9 and 16.
The production leadership team includes Teresa Henderson of Gardiner as the music director, choreography by Ashley Steeves of Rockland, and the rock band is led by Mark McNeil of West Bath.
The lead roles are portrayed by newcomers Hope Horton of Brunswick as Narrator and Max Middleton of Bath as the title role of Joseph. There is a Children’s Choir that remains on the stage most of the play. This is the first theatre experience for most of these children.
Costume designer Marie Waltrip also designed and crafted costumes for the 2007 production.
