BREA, Calif. — Joyce Haley Heffernan, age 90, passed away Jan. 31, 2018 in Brea, California.
She was born and raised in Biddeford, Maine and graduated from Biddeford High School as class valedictorian She continued her education through The United States Cadet Nurses Corp and graduated in 1948 from New England Deaconess School of Nursing in Boston, Mass.
Joyce married her high school sweetheart, Dick Heffernan. They resided in California the majority of their married life, however, Joyce frequently returned to Maine to her family camp at Kennebunk Pond.
Joyce is survived by her children, Susan Economos (Pete), Karen Heffernan, Donna Hastin (Wes), her grandchildren Dustin Deeks-Lederer (Kim), Brian Hastin (Sarah), Kevin Hastin (Nicole), Mike Deeks (Alice), Joe Horan, Julie Hastin and seven great-grandchildren.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Dick Heffernan, brother Thomas Haley and sister Marilyn Haley Record.
