ORONO — Anita P. Underwood, 84, of Orono and formerly of Biddeford, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018 at her home.
She was born March 30, 1934 in Biddeford a daughter of William and Rose (Cloutier) Boucher and was educated locally.
A cosmetologist by profession, she had been employed at Scarborough Hair Fashions for many years.
On Oct. 6, 1951 she married Harold Underwood. They had been married for 41 years when he died on March 15, 1992. On Sept. 20, 2001, she married Jean Paul Berard, who died on Jan. 23, 2008. Anita was also predeceased by her daughter, Joann Droggitis on July 21, 2011.
Anita is survived by a daughter, Diane Underwood of Denhan Springs, Louisiana; a son, Joseph Underwood and his wife Julie of Orono, with whom she had resided; son-in-law Spencer Droggitis of Florida; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Laurie Smith and Lynn Berard; a stepson Daniel Berard; three step-grandchildren; three step- great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Hope Chapel. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
