LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Linda Jane Hall Allen, 73, passed away peacefully in her sleep of natural causes on July 24, in Las Cruces New Mexico.
She was born May 9, 1945 to Laura Wolf Weeks and Wayne F Hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. She graduated high school from Key Port, New Jersey in 1963 and went into the Navy.
While serving her country, Linda, met her first husband and had her first child, Wayne Russell in Chicago Ill., and then went to Italy where she had her daughter, Barbara Russell. She eventually settled in Maine where she had her third child, Robert I. Boyd Jr. She worked at Ames Department stores for many years and owned and operated a NASCAR store for several years.
Linda took great pride working her program and her 35-plus years of sobriety, making many friends wherever she went. In 2015, she set her mind into leaving the Northeast to head to warmer climates. She had friends in New Mexico and off she went to start a new life. She loved being there as it allowed her to take long walks around the city, making new friends and exploring a part of the country she loved being in.
Linda loved being a grandmother and would often pull out pictures of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to show everyone. She could always be found crocheting blankets and making items for friends and family.
She is survived by her sons, Wayne Russell and wife, Sharon of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; Robert I. Boyd, Jr. of Sanford; a brother, David Weeks and wife, Deborah of Port St. Lucie Florida; two sisters, Joanne Metz and husband, Henry of Wells, Maine and Deborah Tierney and husband, John of West Haven, Connecticut; her grandchildren, Joshua, Lynsie, Corey, Stephanie, Bryce, Shelby and Alexis; two great-grandchildren Arya and Addison. Linda was expecting her third great-grandchild in September, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins to round out her family. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara A. Russell.
A Memorial Service will be held at noon Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018 at Jimmy the Greek Restaurant in Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
