SANFORD – April R. Emerson, 31, of Sanford, died on July 17, 2018 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
She was born on April 28, 1987 to Paul and Ruth (Gray) Emerson.
Her family moved to Sanford when she was very young and she attended local schools, graduating from Sanford High School in 2005 and college courses.
April was a strong woman. She struggled with illness for much of her life and faced it with courage. She always had a loving glow about her. She found good in most anything with a smile.
She is predeceased by her father.
Survivors include her fiancé Robert Gouin Jr of Lebanon, Maine; her mother, Ruth Emerson of Sanford; a sister Melody Emerson of Sanford; a brother Paul Emerson of Sanford; a sister Rebecca Benvie of Shapleigh, Maine; nephews, Patrick Emerson, Dakota Emerson, Collin Benvie, Alec Benvie; and nieces Ruthie Emerson and Fia Benvie.
The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the extensive medical staff that have been there to support and care for April through the years.
At the request of the family, services will be private.
