BIDDEFORD — Albert R. Coulombe, 62, of Biddeford died peacefully, July 2, 2018 at his home.
He was born Jan. 3, 1956 a son of Albert J. and Marguerite Y. (Laliberte) Coulombe.
He was a graduate of Biddeford High School in 1974 and attended the University of Maine at Orono.
Albert was a modest, kindhearted, dedicated, loyal, and hardworking man. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends talking about sports and politics.
He loved special occasions and holidays spent with his many nieces and nephews.
He cherished the opportunities he had to attend Fenway Park to see the Red Sox with his sister, Louise. He loved following the New England Patriots, the Boston Red Sox, and his local Biddeford Tiger teams. Albert enjoyed being an umpire for the Saco men’s softball league. He reveled in the score keeping and statistics of the games he attended and watched. He was entertained by horse racing. He loved times spent at Scarborough Downs and Suffolk Downs.
Albert was an avid reader. He had a passion for comics, novels, local and national news. He prominently walked through Biddeford reading his newspapers while trekking to work at Fiber Materials Inc. where he was a dedicated employee for 29 years.
Albert was a devoted member of the Republican Party. He served as a county delegate and secretary for The Republican Committee of York County, Maine. He actively participated in many state conventions and caucuses.
Surviving are two sisters, Marie Anne Louise Lank of Old Orchard Beach and Helene G. Maurice and her husband Donald of Biddeford, and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visiting Hours will 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
