Challenger Soccer Camp
Topsham Parks and Recreation is once again pleased to sponsor the Challenger Sports Soccer Camp the week of August 13-17.
This unique Camp provides participants the ability to gain exposure of the English culture and the game of soccer through British instructors
This program is scheduled to take place at the Foreside Field Area. Cost for the camp includes a T-shirt and a ball.
Children Ages 3-6 (Mini Camp) runs from 8-9 a.m. Children ages 7-12 will be on the field from 9 a.m. to noon.
The mini camp costs $76 for SAD 75 residents, $86 for Topsham residents. The half day camp (for ages 7-12) cost $137 for SAD 75 residents, $147 for non-residents.
Track and Field
Starts June 20 at 6 p.m. at the Brunswick High School Track.
Practices will run Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6-7 p.m., and the first USATF Meet will be on June 28.
Meets are on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Children ages 8-14 may participate in field and running events throughout the summer months, (children ages 7 are welcome with parental supervision to practice with siblings but can’t compete in meets).
Parents must provide transportation to meets, a $2 fee per meet and a cold lunch will be required.
Schedule of meets and procedures will be handed out at the first night.
Cost to register $55 SAD 75 residents only, and includes a track shirt. Birth certificates and USATF form must be completed at time of registration.
Summer Sandlot Baseball
Have an 8-12 year old child (age as of April 30, 2018 ) that just loves baseball, and would just like to go to the field for summer fun?
Join Mt. Ararat varsity baseball coach Brett Chase for Sandlot Baseball.
Skills and drills will be held one night of the week, and pick up games will occur on the other. Keep your child’s love of the game of baseball going.
Cost to register is $20/$25 non-Topsham residents from SAD 75.
The program begins the week of June 25 and ends the week of July 23. Clinics will be held on Sundays and another day to be determined at Crosby Field (Foreside Field).
Topsham Youth Soccer League
The deadline to register for the Topsham Youth Soccer League
For children ages 5-14 is July 19 (age as of October 15, 2018).
Drop off at the Municipal Office by July 19 or mail in with a postmark of July 19 to participate.
Eagle Field Hockey Camp
For grades 2-8 SAD 75 only (fall 2018) June 25-28 from 5-8 p.m. at the Mt. Ararat Middle School field.
Players will have designated a time each night to work on penalty corners, penalty strokes, a nightly flowthrough passing drill and as always. The camp will be keyed on fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals!
Scrimmage time is built in daily as well. Coaches will be fun, positive and encouraging, with a growth mindset and passion for teaching our sport.
What to Bring? Shinguards, mouthguards (molded), a water bottle, sneakers or cleats, and a stick (Coach Chase has plenty of sticks to borrow, or players may purchase a stick package at a reasonable price through the recreation department).
Cost is $45, which includes T-shirt and certificate.
‘Baby Eagles’ Field Hockey Camp
This camp is for players ages 4-6 that live in SAD 75 towns only.
The festivities will be held June 25-28 from 5-7 p.m.
The goal is to introduce the youngest student-athletes to the sport of field hockey. It is the intent for campers to have fun, connect with older student-athletes and learn basic field hockey fundamentals through developmentally geared games.
Campers will receive 1 on 1 and small group instruction from positive, encouraging high school players and coaches.
The cost is $35.
Mt. Ararat Soccer Camp
Come and join Mt. Ararat High School boys varsity coaches Jack Rioux and Sarah Kenney for this one week skill development clinic.
This camp runs from July 23-27, 10 a.m. to noon, at the Topsham Foreside Recreational Area.
High School players will offer their support and direction as counselors for this five-day program.
For ages 5-14, the cost to register is $60 for SAD 75 residents and $70 for non residents, which includes a camp T-shirt.
Eagles Basketball Camp
These camps are for girls in grades 1-8 as of the fall 2018 and for boys entering grades 3-6.
The girls camp will run from July 16-20 on the high school gym floor. Grades 1-4 runs from 9 a.m. to noon, while grades 5-8 take the floor from 1-4 p.m..
Varsity girl’s coach Andy Morris will run the camp. Varsity players from the respective teams will make up the staff.
The boys camp will be run by new varsity coach David Dubreuil and his varsity players. The boys camp takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the high school.
Participants will have the opportunity to develop basketball skills in a “fun, structured and positive atmosphere.”
The cost is $70 and is for SAD 75 students only.
Youth Golf
The Rec. will once again offer a youth golf package at the Brunswick Golf Club
This program is instructed by Gerry Caron, who has been a golf instructor in the Brunswick area for several year.
Participants will learn iron play, chipping, putting and course etiquette.
The clinics take place Tuesdays, beginning July 10, from 11 a.m. to noon for ages 8-15.
Cost to register for this program is $55 for Topsham residents, $65 non–residents.
Ararat Nation Baseball
Join Mt. Ararat Varsity baseball coach Brett Chase and many of his players for this week-long camp on Crosby Field at the Foreside Recreational Facility.
The camp runs from June 18-21, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Players can partake in drills, skills, batting practice, game-like scenarios and game play to sharpen their baseball aptitude.
Open to ages 8-12 (as of April 30, 2018 ), players are sure to have fun while focusing their energy in developing skills in the sport.
Ararat Nation T-shirts will be provided to all registrants.
The cost is $45 for SAD 75 residents, $55 for non-residents.
