WINDHAM — Alex Morang capped a 5-for-6 game with a grand slam in the eighth inning, propelling Windham to an 18-14 win over Sanford in an SMAA softball game Wednesday.
Morang homered twice and finished with seven RBI. Erin Elder went 4 for 6 with two home runs, Chloe Wilcox also homered twice, and Megan Joy was 3 for 4 with a home run for the Eagles (6-5).
Molly Boissonneault homered and drove in three runs for Sanford (1-11).
PORTLAND 6, BIDDEFORD 2: The Bulldogs (6-5) took advantage of five walks and an error to score three runs in the sixth and pull away from the Tigers (6-6) in Biddeford.
Portland’s Kit Rosmus hit a two-run homer in the first inning.
Jess Brown made it 3-0 with an RBI single in the fourth. She also struck out 11.
Chantel Perreault hit an RBI double in the fourth for Biddeford, and Anna Lavigne doubled home Brook Davis in the fifth.
THORNTON ACADEMY 12, SOUTH PORTLAND 2: Olivia Howe drove in four runs, and the Trojans (11-2) used a six-run second inning to roll past the Red Riots (6-7) in Saco.
Kaitlin Verreault had two hits and scored three runs, and Louisa Colucci pitched the final five innings allowing just two hits while striking out nine.
Grace Rende had three hits, including a double, for South Portland.
CAPE ELIZABETH 3, POLAND 0: Anna Cornell allowed just three singles, struck out eight and walked one as the Capers (6-5) shut out the Knights (5-6) at Cape Elizabeth.
Leadoff hitter Julia Torre went 4 for 4 and scored twice to pace the Capers. Jessica Robicheaw had three hits and drove in two runs, and Elena Keller and Kathleen Ledoux each contributed a pair of hits.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 6, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0: Ali Martell struck out 14, gave up only three hits and paced the offense with three hits as the Patriots (7-5) beat the Raiders (8-3) at Fryeburg.
WELLS 7, TRAIP ACADEMY 2: Karissa Kenyon hit a three-run homer and Anya Chase struck out 10 as the Warriors (8-3) beat the Rangers (6-5) in Kittery.
Reilly Eddy struck out 15 for Wells.
NOBLE 8, BONNY EAGLE 1: Kelsey Lessard lined a grand slam in the second inning to give the Knights (10-1) a 4-0 lead in a win over the Scots (6-6) at Standish.
Mackenzie Aleva added a two-run homer in the fourth. Kassidy Lessard, Emily Sanfacon, Raegan Kelly and Lauren Sanger each contributed a pair of hits.
Morgan Drinkwater drove in Bonny Eagle’s run with a double in the seventh.
KENNEBUNK 3, MAINE GIRLS’ ACADEMY 1: Christine Jarowicz doubled home the go-ahead run in the seventh inning and scored on an error to lift the Rams (8-5) over Maine Girls’ Academy/Falmouth (3-9) at Portland.
Winning pitcher Lydia Howarth had 12 strikeouts, allowed six hits and walked one.
MARSHWOOD 15, DEERING 0: Molly Glidden got a single, a double, a triple and four RBI as the Hawks (4-7) cruised past the Rams (0-12) in a six-inning game at Portland.
Liz Drelich had two hits for Deering.
MASSABESIC 7, CHEVERUS/NYA 2: Lacey Bean hit a two-run homer in the first inning to start the Mustangs (9-4) on their way to a win over Stags (3-9) at Portland.
Bean also had a double in sixth inning as Massabesic scored four runs to pull away. Grace Tutt each added a single and a double Emily Morin.
Alexandra Hammond hit a single and a double for Cheverus.
OCEANSIDE 3, NOKOMIS 2: Abby Veilleux’s bases-loaded single in the ninth inning gave the Mariners (9-2) a win over Warriors (7-5) at Rockland.
Veilleux scored the tying run with two outs in the seventh on a triple by Raechel Joyce. Veilleux and Chloe Jones each finished with three hits for Oceanside, and Casey Pine hit a pair of singles.
MT. ARARAT 8, LINCOLN ACADEMY 3: Ema Hawkes was 4 for 4 with an RBI and three runs scored, and Kayleigh Temple finished with three hits and three RBI for Mt. Ararat (4-7), in a win over Lincoln (6-5) at Topsham.
Chloe Poland had two hits and scored twice for Lincoln.

KENNEBUNK 12, THORNTON ACADEMY 3: Lily Schwartzman scored four goals, Erin Gorton had three goals and an assist, and the Rams (8-0) rolled past the Trojans (2-5) in Kennebunk,
Adeline Paradis scored all three goals for Thornton.
FALMOUTH 14, CHEVERUS 9: Chelsey Smithwick scored six goals, Kayla Sarazin added four goals, and Caitlyn Camelio chipped in with three to lead the Yachtsmen (7-2) past the Stags (2-4) at Falmouth.
Cheverus got five goals from Zoe Mazur and two from Mac Johnston.
MORSE 16, GARDINER/HALL-DALE 4: Emily Martin scored five goals and Mae Winglass added four for the Shipbuilders (4-4) in a win over Gardiner/Hall-Dale (2-5) in Bath.
LAKE REGION 19, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 3: Rachel Shanks scored four goals for the Lakers (7-1) in a win over the Raiders (4-5) at Naples.
Melissa Bonenfant, Lindsay Keenan, Lauren Jakobs, Paige Davis, Isabelle Davis-White and Bella Russo each had a pair of goals.
