TOPSHAM

Mt. Ararat High School has hired David Dubreuil as its new varsity boys basketball head coach, Athletic Director Geoff Godo said on Tuesday.

He replaces Jeff Hogan, who coached the Eagles in the 2017-2018 season.

“Coach Dubreuil brings several years of coaching experience within the Mt. Ararat boys basketball program, along with a tremendous energy and passion for the job,” Godo said. “He has demonstrated an ability to effectively engage and motivate the players within our program, and is well connected to the basketball communities in the MSAD 75 area, making him a great candidate for this position.”

A 2001 graduate of Mt. Ararat High School, Dubreuil has coached basketball at various levels within the Eagles system over the last 13 years. In addition to coaching recreation level programs in Topsham,

Dubreuil served as the freshman boys basketball coach from 2005-2014. For the last three seasons, he has served as the jayvee boys basketball coach for the Eagles.

Mt. Ararat loses eight seniors from this year’s squad and will look to improve upon its 7-11 record. The Eagles last made the MPA playoffs in the 2015- 2016 season.
