NORTH BERWICK — The Noble softball team topped visiting Massabesic 8-1 on Monday afternoon to win its third straight game and improve to 3-0 on the year.

Mackenzie Aleva hit a two-run home run for the Knights while Lauren Sanger and Raegan Kelly had multi-hit games. Kelly continued to impress in the circle, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out six.

Lauren Kiss got two hits for Massabesic in the loss.

Buckfield 11, Old Orchard Beach 10

Morgan Howlett-Brown allowed just nine hits and five earned runs in the circle, but Buckfield would take advantage of some OOB miscues to secure the win.

Payje Leclerc led the OOB offense with two doubles, one single and one RBI. Meghan Pelletier added two hits, two RBIs and three runs scored.

Howlett-Brown helped herself with two hits and two RBIs, and both Zoe Young and Mackenzie Belanger also had two hits and drove in two runs for the Seagulls (0-1).

Baseball                                                                                          

Noble 5, Scarborough 4

The Knights grinded out a tough win over Scarborough on to kick off their season.

Trailing 4-1 in the sixth, the Knights would use four Scarborough errors in the inning and would get an RBI double from Jared Grondin to complete the comeback win. Jacob LaCroix got the win on the mound for Noble, pitching seven innings and striking out five.

Old Orchard Beach 11, Buckfield 1

Kyle Allen went all six innings on the mound with just two hits allowed and 10 strikeouts as OOB picked up its first win of the season.

The senior would also lead the Seagulls (1-1) at the plate as he went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs in the win.

OOB would also get a double, single and two RBIs from Mark Johnston.

Girls Tennis                                              

Windham 4, Massabesic 1

Windham edged the Mustangs on Monday afternoon.

Massabesic’s lone win came from Elizabeth Brown who topped Autumn Hill 6-3, 6-2. Windham’s Gabby Smith topped Sarah Doyle 6-0, 6-0, while teammate Anna Cancelerich beat Amy Burke 6-1, 6-0. 

Windham’s doubles pair of Rachel Frost and Susi Krebs defeated Zoey Nedzbala and Savannah Ouellette 6-2, 6-3. Windham’s Megan Fleck and Danielle Jones topped Rachael Raymond and Helen Philbrick 6-1, 6-2.

Cheverus 5, Sanford 0

The Stags swept visiting Sanford on Monday

Anastasia Kapothanasis topped Anna Johnson 6-1, 6-0 while Elliana Budri beat Kim Works 6-0, 6-0. Kristina Matevich beat Elaine Howley 6-0, 6-0.

Cheverus’ doubles pair of Alexis Paszyc and Lily Paszyc topped Sara Baker and Mikala Lucas 6-1, 6-0. Julia Ryan and Erin Libby later worked past Taylor MacDonald and Brianna Racicot 6-3, 6-2.
