Thornton Academy Golden Trojans

Coach: Ryan Hersey (9th year)

Last year’s record: 13-2, lost in the Southern Maine Final to Scarborough 20-16

Key newcomers: Chandler Bilodeau, Nathan Varle, Anthony Bracamonte, Tanner Weeks, Cam Jones, Cam Cote, Sawyer Wirsing

Key returners: Noah Edborg, Jack Webb, Tom Levasseur, Wyatt LeBlanc, Sam Edborg, Tucker Weeks, Cam Houde, Eli Arsenault, Ean Patry

Coach’s outlook: With six out of the teams top seven scorers back from last year’s squad, TA’s offense should have no problem finding the back of the net. Defensively, they return all-conference defender Cameron Houde and Ean Patry is a three year starter in net who should be one of the best keepers in the league. The Trojans will look to make a run deep into the playoffs this year with the veteran team.

Massabesic Mustangs

Coach: Steve Gallo (3rd year)

Last year’s record: 7-5

Key newcomers: Bryson Pomerleau, Brady Cormier,

Key returners: Cameron Roy, Kurtis Morin, Garrett Stubbs, Evan Foglio

Key losses: Ethan Ouellette, Zion Mercado, Russell Wright

Coach’s outlook: We graduated some key talent, but have improved our average ability. We’ve had major advances in the culture of the team over the past few seasons; all that’s left is for players to step up and fill the voids.  We’ve made tournament the past two seasons, so our goal this year is second round playoffs.

Key losses: Gavon Powers

Coach’s outlook: The 2018 boys lacrosse team has an even mix of players from seniors to freshman that will make positive impacts on this years team. We have a great mix of speed, power and at least eight players that could end up with 10-plus goals. Backed by a very tough defense and goal keeping, our outlook for the year and goal is to make it to states and bring home Biddeford’s first state championship in lacrosse.

Kennebunk Rams

Coach: Chris Gassman (1st year)

Key returners: Dante Delorenzo, Cole Dickinson, Connor Archibald, Evan Schindler, Tripp Bush.

Key losses: Brenden Whitten, Cam Connor, and Miles Eaton

Coach’s outlook: A great core of returners who are now upperclassmen that have an outstanding leadership mentality. We have a veteran defense as well as solid faceoff play. We are looking to rejoin class A and put ourselves right in the mix as contenders.

Wells Warriors

Coach: Donnie Whitten (4th year)

Last years record: 10-4

Coach’s outlook: Looking for some of the underclassmen to step up and fill the roles of those that we lost last season to graduation. Hoping to build on last years success and go deeper into the playoffs. Continuing to grow our program, and be recognized as a team that is a contender.
