Noah Edborg, Thornton senior, attack: Edborg set a Thornton single-season scoring record with 59 goals and 29 assists as a junior. He is one of four returning SMAA first-team players for the Trojans.
Aiden Glover, Brunswick junior, attack: Glover, the younger brother of 2017 Maine Sunday Telegram Player of the Year Christian Glover, will become even more of a marked man after scoring 66 goals with 39 assists. The Dragons graduated 13 players from last year’s 16-0 Class A championship team.
Max Gramins, Brunswick senior, attack: Coming off a 44-goal, 18-assist season, Gramins excels close to the goal, either shooting from the crease area or setting up others from behind the net.
Spencer Hammond, Marshwood junior, long-stick midfielder: An SMAA honorable mention pick as a sophomore, Hammond gives the Hawks a “ground-ball machine,” according to Coach Ralph Ruocco, who said Hammond could be involved offensively this season.
Brendan Hickey, Falmouth senior, defense: The two-time Telegram All-State pick and Merrimack College commit has the strength to guard big players, footwork to handle the shifty attackers and speed to transition the ball. As a junior he forced 57 turnovers, gained 74 ground balls and also had 8 points (4 goals, 4 assists).
Ben Kennedy, Greely senior, attack: With an improved shot and strength, Kennedy leads a group of three attackmen coming off 20-plus goal seasons that includes sophomores Schuyler Wetmore and Andrew Lawrence.
CJ LaBreck, Thornton junior, midfield: A three-sport athlete with good size (6-foot-1) and speed, LaBreck is starting to draw Division I college interest according to Coach Ryan Hersey. He scored 29 goals with 22 assists as a sophomore.
Reece Lagerquist, Scarborough senior, defense: A top three-sport athlete, Lagerquist’s best sport is lacrosse. He can use his combination of speed, strength and 6-foot-5 frame to thwart opponents and move the ball in transition to attackers like senior Marco Manfra (36 goals, 25 assists).
Miles Lipton, Waynflete junior, midfield: Coming off a 27-goal, 12-assist season, Lipton and senior attack Hank Duvall (31 goals, 13 assists) give the Flyers two of the top players in Class C, both filling a variety of roles.
Cooper May, Yarmouth senior, midfield: A returning first-team Western Maine Conference selection, May scored 18 goals with 11 assists last year and draws notice from opposing coaches as the Clippers’ top threat.
Cooper Mehlhorn, South Portland junior, attack: Mehlhorn teams with fellow three-year starter David Fiorini (36 goals, 38 assists) to form a potent one-two scoring threat. Mehlhorn had 40 goals and 44 assists last season.
Tate Perkins, Cape Elizabeth senior, attack: Possessing a quick, accurate shot, Perkins scored 34 goals with 20 assists as a junior. Because of key graduation losses, he’ll now draw opponents’ top defenders.
Grayson Post, Westbrook senior, attack: A four-year varsity player, Post was a second-team SMAA pick as a freshman and honorable mention choice last season. The St. Michael’s College commit has 94 goals with 59 assists in his career.
Finn Raymond, Cape Elizabeth senior, midfield: An all-around player who will also be in Cape’s face-off rotation, Raymond is coming off a 35-goal, 17-assist season that included four goals in the Capers’ 16-7 Class B final win against Yarmouth.
Riley Reed, Falmouth junior, long-stick midfielder: A combination of speed, stick work and tenaciousness makes Reed a high-level disrupter. He forced 64 turnovers and grabbed 79 ground balls as a sophomore.
