A three-vehicle crash closed a portion of Route 202 in Lebanon on Saturday evening for about a half hour, according to Maine State Police.

Trooper William Pusey said a Subaru Forester was rear-ended and pushed into oncoming traffic, sideswiping a late-model Chevy Tahoe.

The driver of the Subaru was traveling eastbound and stopped to make a left turn onto Center Road when it was rear-ended by half-ton pickup truck about 5 p.m.

Pusey said the drivers were lucky to have walked away with only minor injuries, as the speed limit is 55 mph through that area.

“It’s a bad intersection. I thought I was going to be rolling up on something heavier,” he said. “It was a pretty good wreck. Three cars were totaled.”

The crash occurred a little before 5 p.m. Pusey said the road was closed for about 30 minutes, when one lane was re-opened. He expected the scene to be cleared by 7 p.m.
