EWING TOWNSHIP, N.J. — After winning its sixth straight Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship, the University of New England womens basketball team will compete in the NCAA tournament, taking on the Rochester Institute of Technology today in New Jersey.

This will also be the seventh straight year that the Nor’easters compete in the national tournament. Ewing has been proud of the development of this year’s club, and the work ethic it has demonstrated.
“This team may have made the largest jump in terms of improvement in all my years. I’m so proud of the work they put in — especially defensively,” said Ewing.
Although the Tigers enter today’s match the favorite, Ewing has confidence in his club, which as progressively gotten better throughout the winter season.
“We’re expecting a very smart, tough RIT team. They’re definitely the favorite but we are playing good basketball right now and we’re excited for the challenge,” said Ewing.
