ORONO — The Thornton Academy boys swimming and diving squad had a strong showing at the Class A State Championships on Saturday at the University of Maine.
Eli Steward led the way for TA as he finished second in the 100 freestyle and third in the 50 free. 
Steward would also join Joe Vail, Felix Machacek and Josh Roberts to take third in the 400 free relay and fourth in the 200 free relay. Machacek would also finish fifth in the 100 free and Roberts was seventh in the 100 individual medley.
The Golden Trojans finished seventh as a team. Cheverus won the team title with Bangor second and Brunswick third.
Kennebunk’s Aiden Ward finished third in the diving competition. Jason Albaum finished fifth in the 100 breaststroke and seventh in the 100 butterfly for the Rams.
Sanford’s Josh Webber finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke, while Biddeford was led by a sixth-place finish from Aidan Donovan, Liam Donovan, Brett Lewis and Lucas Girard in the 200 free relay.
