CAPE ELIZABETH — The Kennebunk girls swimming and diving team took first place at last weekend’s Southwestern Maine Activities Association Southwesterns swim meet.

The Rams finished with a score of 351.5, while Thornton Academy finished fourth with 139.5 and Sanford fifth with 120.

Yarmouth won the boys meet, while Thornton Academy finished in third place and Kennebunk fourth.

Here are some of the results:

GIRLS

Kennebunk’s team of Grace Soucy, Sydney Macedo, Grace Girard and Caroline Lowery won the 200 medley relay while teammate Isabel Harms won the 200 free. Sanford’s Delaney Tanguay would later win the 50 free and the 100 free.

Kennebunk’s Taylor Nguyen won the diving competition, while Harms took the 500 free.

Kennebunk’s Grace Thompson, Lowery, Nina Sharp and Britta Brown would win the 200 free relay while Soucy would take first in the 100 yard breaststroke. Yentsch, Sharp, Harms and Olivia McLean also won the 400 free relay for Kennebunk.

Sanford’s team of Tiffany Twombly, Hanah Couture, Tanguay and Anna Frohloff finished second in the 200 medley relay. Kennebunk’s Ella Yentsch later placed second in the 200 free and 50 free while Soucy took second in the 200 IM. 

Wells’ Hannah Braddish finished second in diving, while Kennebunk’s Thompson finished second in the 100 free. Twombly finished second in the 100 backstroke.

BOYS

Kennebunk’s Jason Albaum won the 200 yard freestyle while Thornton Academy’s Eli Steward won the 200 yard IM.

TA’s team of Joe Vail, Carl Pellerin, Nolan Eisenhaur and Felix Machacek would win the 200 freestyle relay as well as the 400 relay. Eisenhaur later won the 500 yard free.

Biddeford’s Aiden Donovan took second in the 200 free Kennebunk’s Aiden Ward finished second in diving. TA’s Steward would place second in the 100 yard butterfly, while teammate Joshua Roberts took second in the 100 free.

Kennebunk’s Zach Matthews took second in the 500 free, while the Rams’ team of Tobias Macedo, Josh Erickson-Harris, Albaum and Matthews placed second in the 200 free relay.

Roberts of TA finished second in the 100 back, while Biddeford’s team of Liam Donovan, Aiden Donovan, Lucas Girard and Brett Lewis took second in the 400 free relay.
