The driver of a pickup truck was not injured after his truck skidded on black ice Monday afternoon near the Exit 45 off-ramp of the Maine Turnpike.
Brian Lavoie, 45, of Sanford, was heading north when his 2009 GMC pickup truck hit a patch of black ice, skidded off the road, and struck a snowbank, causing the vehicle to tip on its side.
Maine State Police Trooper Duane Doughty said Lavoie, who was on his way to work, was not hurt. The accident took place in South Portland around 3:54 p.m.
