WELLS — The Wells girls basketball team cruised to a 60-21 win over visiting Traip Academy on Wednesday evening.
Megan Schneider led the Warriors with 17 points while Franny Ramsdell added 10 and Olivia Durfee eight.
Wells improves to 8-7 on the season and will take on Cape Elizabeth this Saturday.
Old Orchard Beach 33, Yarmouth 32 (OT)
The Lady Gulls edged Yarmouth in overtime on Wednesday.
The Clippers would take a 24-16 lead into halftime, but OOB would hold them to just eight points in the second half to force overtime. OOB continued to impress defensively as it shut out the Clippers in the extra period to get the come from behind win.
Bri Plante led OOB with 10 points and six assists while Shani Plante also added 10 points. Meg Laplante and Kaitlyn Cote each hauled in seven rebounds.
OOB improves to 12-3 on the season.
Girls Hockey
Portland/Deering 6, Biddeford/Thornton Academy/Wells 2
The Bulldogs secured the No. 2 seed in the Southern conference as they topped visiting Biddeford/TA/Wells on Wednesday.
Olivia Demers led Portland/Deering with a hat trick, while Maddy Danse, Caroline Lerch and Inez Braceras also scored.
Ainsley Wescott led the Tigers with a goal and an assist while Paige Laverriere also added a score.
Portland/Deering improves to 13-5 while the Tigers drop to 9-7-1.
Wrestling
Massabesic 61, Kennebunk 18 Marshwood 45, Massabesic 36
The Mustangs would split a tri-meet held at Marshwood High School on Wednesday night.
In the Massabesic-Kennebunk match, the Mustangs would get pins from Hunter Steeves (113) and Matthew Pooler (152).
Noah Hernandez (138) and Micah Fitzgerald (145) would earn technical fall wins for Massabesic.
Kennebunk would get pins from Sean Radel (106) and Alden Shields (120).
In the Massabesic-Marshwood match, the Mustangs were led by Hernandez and Pooler with pins.
Marshwood got pins from Sean Moriarty (113), Liam Coomey (126), David Spinney (145), Dylan Strong (170) and James Thompson (220).
