Trey Davis, Devin Williams and Daniel Dixon all notched season-high scoring totals, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the short-handed Maine Red Claws from falling 113-107 to the first-place Westchester Knicks in an Eastern Conferernce G League basketball game Thursday night.
A crowd of 1,591 at the Portland Expo saw the Red Claws (13-14) suit up eight healthy players, one of them, guard Jerome Seagears, arriving 90 minutes before tipoff following a flight from Las Vegas.

Five Maine players logged more than 35 minutes, one for Westchester (21-10). Isaiah Hicks led the Knicks with 23 points followed by Billy Garrett (21) and Xavier Rathan-Mayes (20).
Davis poured in 36 points for the Claws, including a perfect 13 of 13 from the line. Williams added 30 points and 14 rebounds. Dixon, who played a game-high 45:23 of a possible 48 minutes, had 22 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
Maine led by as many as seven points in the first quarter before Westchester pulled to a 69-59 halftime advantage. The Claws rallied to tie at 87 on an Anthony Bennett 3-pointer to open the fourth quarter, but the Knicks responded with a 10-5 run.
Bennett finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The teams meet again Saturday night at the Expo.
