The Maine Department of Corrections issued a warning to the public Tuesday about an escaped inmate.
Robert John Berry, 46, fled from his home confinement around 1 p.m. Tuesday, the department said. He had previously been an inmate at the Mountain View Correctional Facility in Charleston, where he was serving a 16-month sentence for theft. The department didn’t say where Berry had been serving home confinement.
Berry could have been eligible for release in April. The department said Berry is 6 feet, 1 inch tall, weighs 190 pounds, and has gray or partially gray hair. He was sentenced in May for theft by unauthorized taking in York County.
