BIDDEFORD — Anita LeProhon, 92, of Biddeford, Maine passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 after a short illness.

She was born Sept. 26, 1925, to Agenard and Julia Bourgault. Her career included working at the Songo and Nike shoe factories and Levinski’s in Portland. In her retirement, she spent time at Biddeford’s Head Start program.

She was a loving and amazing mother to her seven children. Some of her greatest joys in life were gathering her large family together for Monday night dinners, where she was known for never sending anyone away hungry from her home. She also loved attending her family’s sporting events.

Anita was the last of her 13 siblings to pass away. She is survived by her seven children John Le Prohon, Robert Bourgault, Louise and her husband Leroy Newsome Jr., Roseann and her husband James Foley, Suzan Arica, Cathy and her husband Steven Camire and Angel Roberts; 22 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visiting Hours will be 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St Joseph Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
