WATERVILLE — The Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers recently received a grant from The Community Foundation’s S.L. Gimbel Foundation in support of the nonprofit’s TRUTH Project.
The project’s goal is to provide evidence-based treatment to children who have experienced abuse, neglect or other traumatic experiences. It includes training and support to parents, providers, school staff and the community as a whole. As part of the TRUTH Project, the grant totaling more than $23,600 will help train eight Maine Children’s Home counselors to become certified in various treatment methods.
The grant was made possible by The Community Foundation, strengthening inland southern California through philanthropy.
