The 42nd Annual Sing! It’s Christmas community singalong is coming to the Chocolate Church Arts Center on Monday.

The annual event, which takes place the Monday before Christmas, will see people gather at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for open seating.

In addition to the community sing-along for seasonal favorites, there are specialty acts and individual performers who add to the musical presentation.

This year, the Morse Concert and Mixed Choir, led by Sandy Foreman, will fill the stage and sing “In the Dark of Midnight.” Dancers from Studio 48 Performance Team, lead by Bethel Keith and Kate Andreau, will perform. Local tenor Andy Barber will sing “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire.” And Pretty Girls Sing Soprano will harmonize “Who Comes This Night” by James Taylor.

What began as a fundraising celebration, with carols led by Christie Linwood and Mrs. Raymond Huotari (known now as musical maven Martha Mayo), has grown into a touchstone of the holiday season

After the show, Wendy Jung of Soggy Dog will be taking pictures of children on Santa’s lap.

Everyone is welcome to the sing-along; the admission is free, but hats are passed for donations to the Chocolate Church.
