SAINT JOHN’S CATHOLIC SCHOOL’S Band Leader, Mrs. Kathy Downing and former band assistant Vicki Littlefield started the “B Band” in 1995 to offer kids and parents of St. John’s a place to play together in a jazz band. Since its inception, B Band has had faculty members and various SJ graduates join. Vicki Littlefield’s two children; Sheridan and Nick, were in the first B Band and Vicki herself learned saxophone from Downing from scratch. The band meets on Thursday afternoons during the school year, and performs concerts in December and May at various Senior Living centers in the area.
