For the third year running, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay is welcoming visitors back to its annual seasonal celebration, Gardens Aglow. More than 500,000 LEDs transform the central gardens into the largest light display in Maine. Last year, Gardens Aglow drew 75,000 visitors.

Gardens Aglow runs through Dec. 31, Thursdays through Sundays from 4-9 p.m., closed Christmas Eve. Tickets are available on-site, but visitors are encouraged to purchase their tickets online at MaineGardens.org to save money and help regulate traffic flow. Tickets are timed for three separate arrivals each night: 4 p.m., 6 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. Discounts are available for CMBG members and groups of 10 or more.

Beginning at 4 p.m., complimentary shuttles run continuously from the fire station in Boothbay Harbor to Gardens Aglow. Through December, Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor offer visitors a wide variety of seasonal activities. For a complete listing of Boothbay Festival of Lights events, visit boothbaylights.com.

Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is a nationally recognized non-profit public garden. Their mission “is to inspire meaningful connections among people, plants and nature through horticulture, education and research.”
