Guerschon Yabusele scored a game-high 27 points in his NBA G League season debut as the Maine Red Claws defeated the Westchester Knicks 111-100 on Wednesday.

Yabusele, on assignment from the Boston Celtics, added six rebounds and four assists for the Red Claws (6-3). It was Maine’s second consecutive win.

Kadeem Allen had 26 points for Maine, while Jabari Bird and Jon Holmes each scored 12 points.

NBA veteran Joakim Noah, on assignment from the New York Knicks, had nine points and five rebounds for Westchester (7-4). Isaiah Hicks led the Knicks with 20 points.

The Red Claws return to the Portland Expo on Friday night against Raptors 905.

MAJOR LEAGUES: Carlos Beltran interviewed to become manager of the New York Yankees, four weeks after the final game of his 20-year major league career.

Beltran, 40, was a nine-time All-Star and played for the Yankees from 2014-16. While he does not have any managerial experience, he mentored young teammates during his final seasons as a player. Beltran won his first World Series title with Houston this season.

MLS: Jozy Altidore scored in the 60th minute and Toronto FC advanced to the MLS Cup final for the second straight year with a 1-0 win over the Columbus Crew in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference final.

MIAMI OPEN: The tournament signed paperwork with the Miami mayor’s office to move to the Miami Dolphins’ stadium beginning in 2019. The tournament has been held since 1987 on the island of Key Biscayne near downtown Miami.
