She was born Jan. 16, 1924 in Biddeford a daughter of Eugene and Philomene (Huot) Cote and was educated in St. Joseph’s School and graduated from St. Joseph’s High School.
On Aug. 24, 1946 she married Lionel Lapointe in St. Joseph Church.
She had worked as a teacher aid at Emery, St. Andre’s and Kennedy Schools, retiring in 1986.
Simonne enjoyed card playing, crossword puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles.
She was preceded in death by Lionel, her husband of 37 years on Jan. 3, 1984.
Surviving are a daughter, Rachel Lapointe and her partner William Hart of Marina del Rey, California; a son, Robert Lapointe and his wife Diane of Old Orchard Beach; a sister, Laurette Cote of Biddeford; four grandchildren Todd, Robert, Kristen and Laura; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
There will be no visiting hours. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 at St. Margaret Church in Old Orchard Beach. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford at a later date.
