WATERBORO — It turned out to be a special night for the Massabesic field hockey team on Tuesday as the Mustangs rolled to a 4-0 win over South Portland — and senior Emma Rutledge earned her place in the MHS record books.
Rutledge scored a goal in the second half on Tuesday to break the school record for career goals.
Camryn Champlin put Massabesic (6-0) ahead with a score just 44 seconds into play, followed by Morgan Pike who scored twice in the first half to give the Mustangs the 3-0 edge at the break.
Rutledge would add the final tally for the Mustangs, who got four saves from goalie Mady Pomerleau.
