BOOTHBAY — If you can’t make it to the Maine Model Railroad Tour on Saturday, there’s always a chance to see model railroading at the Boothbay Railway Village.

The museum’s Model Railroad Exhibit includes an HO scale layout measuring 46-by-20 feet with 600 feet of track, representing Maine railroading in the 1950s- ’60s.

The exhibit is housed in a replica of a historic Maine freight station from Bowdoin, located near the museum’s Antique Auto Exhibit.

The exhibit will be part of the Maine Model Railroad Tour, and those interested in seeing the layout as part of the tour should inform the museum’s ticket office upon arrival.

The work at the Model Railroad Exhibit is performed by volunteers of the Model Railroad Group that meets year-round. The group is always looking for “donations of model railroad layouts, locomotives, rolling stock, buildings, scenery materials, tools or reference materials” to be used at the exhibit’s layout or sold at model train shows, according to the museum’s website.

Send an email modelrailroad@railwayvillage.org for more information or to make a donation.
