As a youth, Carol was a very caring and helpful person and she carried this persona throughout her adult life. She was a member of the VFW and AMVETS, as well as being part of the Deaf Community Club.
Toward the end, Carol was very well taken care of by her friends Harry Jr. (Big Harry) and Sue Bennett. Sue was Carol’s caretaker and best friend for over 10 years, with the last two years living in Carol’s home and providing 24/7 care.
Carol is predeceased by her parents Leo Mathieu and Arlene Vachon and her two sisters, Melinda Mathieu and Carlene Hartford.
Carol is survived by her brother Jim Mathieu and his girlfriend Jackie and many nieces and nephews.
At Carol’s request, there will be no services.
