Gorham police said they pursued the operator of a dirt bike for 10 miles before the rider lost control and fled on foot Sunday.
Gorham police Officer Dean Hannon caught up with Daryl W. Terry Jr., 19, of Baldwin and arrested him shortly before noon Sunday.
Police said Terry refused to stop for Hannon on New Portland Road and fled. After ditching his bike, Terry was “quickly apprehended by officers and taken into custody,” police said in a statement.
Terry was being held Sunday night on charges that included eluding an officer, reckless conduct, refusing to submit to arrest and violating conditions of release.
