MANCHESTER, N.H. — Henry Owens walked six batters in four-plus innings and the Portland Sea Dogs lost 10-3 to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Sunday.
Owens, making his third start with Portland after being sent down from Triple-A Pawtucket, allowed six runs and six hits while striking out two. He was removed after allowing back-to-back singles to start the fifth.
In three starts with Portland (43-47) since joining the team to work on a new delivery, Owens has walked 17 batters in 92/3 innings.
New Hampshire (37-56) jumped on Owens for four runs in the first inning on RBI singles by Danny Jansen and Tim Lopes and a two-run double by Gunnar Heidt.
Michael Chavis and Jeremy Barfield each had an RBI in the fourth as Portland got within 4-2, but the Fisher Cats added three runs in the fifth and three in the seventh.
Chavis homered in the sixth.
Sean Reid-Foley earned the win, allowing three runs on four hits in six innings.
