The 11-year-old boy who collided with a car in a South Portland neighborhood last week remains hospitalized in the pediatric intensive care unit, police have said.
Bradin Dingwell was struck on May 23 by a four-door sedan driven by 41-year-old James MacKay, of Lewiston, after Dingwell entered an intersection at Palmer and Elm Street in the Turner Island neighborhood.
MacKay had just left work, and police said speed and alcohol appear not to be factors. It was not immediately clear whether Dingwell struck MacKay, or MacKay struck Dingwell.
A reconstruction of the incident is ongoing, and no citations or charges have been filed while the investigation is underway, said South Portland police Lt. Frank Clark.
