AUBURN – Carl Lapierre 60, a long-time resident of both of Sanford and Wells passed away Wednesday May 24 at the Hospice House of Auburn following a brief illness with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Sanford on July 14, 1956, the son of Walter and Cecile (Roger) Lapierre.
Carl grew up in Sanford where he attended local schools and was a graduate of Sanford High School. During school he followed in his family footsteps of working at Paris Pizza in Sanford after school. He furthered his education attending training to be a chef. Carl had worked as a chef for many Maine Restaurants.
In the past, Carl was also a dedicated caregiver to his mother, Cecile. Carl had many friends throughout his life that he helped, and in return when Carl needed help his friends were there to help him.
Carl will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his mother, Cecile of Saco; five brothers, Donald of Arundel, Thomas and wife Kathy of Sanford, Gerard and wife Brenda of Poland, Roger and wife Sally of Mt. View, California, and John and wife Jan of Saco; two sisters, Pauline Fritz and husband, Richard of Arundel, and Adele Clark and husband, Tim of Jefferson. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by one brother, Paul.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday May 31 at Holy Family Church of St. Therese Parish, 66 North Ave., Sanford. Graveside committal prayers to follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery, Sanford.
