SACO — Salli B. Hamilton, 89, passed away on Thursday May 18, 2017, at Evergreen Manor, in Saco. She was born Nov. 10, 1927, in Springfield, Massachusetts. Salli graduated from Classical High School in Springfield and she attended Cazenovia College.
While living in Massachusetts, for a period of time during the 1970’s, she was the manager of the historic Curtis Inn in Lenox, and she operated an art gallery at the Inn.
Salli’s family owned a home at Goose Rocks Beach from the 1930’s and she had been a resident of Maine for over 40 years. With her late husband William Hamilton, they resided in Kennebunkport and were regulars at the local antique auctions and they also sold antiques and art from their home. After her husband’s death, Salli relocated to Vassalboro and later to Augusta before residing in Saco.
Salli is survived by: her children, Robert A. Gordon, Richard J. Gordon and Jerilyn M. Briggs, granddaughters Holly J. Morin, Robin Riley and Emily Amara Gordon, a great grandchild and her devoted niece Sharin Alpert.
The family is grateful to the dedicated and compassionate staff at Evergreen Manor. At Salli’s request, there will be no services.
