As an only child, Priscille was blessed with first cousins who were like siblings to her. Beach time with her cousins began at her aunt’s Hills Beach cottage and continued throughout her life with the towels switching to Biddeford Pool. Encouraged by her mother, she went to Pennsylvania for college and was always proud to be a Marywood College graduate.
On a hot summer day in August of 1969, Priscille married Robert Dion and began their family life. Her teaching career began and ended at Biddeford High’s Vocational School. Teaching retail merchandising allowed her to integrate her creative gifts with her ability to relate to teens and she remained an engaged and effective educator for over 30 years. Priscille loved to work. Once her two children were adults, she rediscovered her love of retail. The Macy’s fine jewelry department never had a more enthusiastic sales person … or customer.
Priscille’s enthusiasm for her work was only eclipsed by her enthusiasm for her dream home and the family life she and Bob created within it. She was patient, creative, loving and kind. These gifts made her home both beautiful and welcoming to all who entered. She sewed couture quality garments, cooked gourmet meals, earned a master’s degree, and taught her children well.
Her Catholic faith sustained her and guided her happily throughout her life. Even when Alzheimer’s had settled in and her world grew smaller, her awareness and gratitude for her blessed life never dimmed.
She leaves behind Robert her devoted and beloved husband of nearly 48 years, daughter Denise and her husband Jeff, son Robbie and his wife Stacey and four grandsons, Brandon, Max, Will and Kyle.
