On Saturday at 3 p.m., Gulf of Maine Books and the Curtis Memorial Library host a reading by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Richard Ford in the Morrell Meeting Room of Curtis Memorial Library, 23 Pleasant St. in Brunswick. It will be the Saturday of Mother’s Day weekend, and Ford will read from his newly published memoir, “Between Them – Remembering My Parents. “
Ford is a writer of fiction. His novels include the Frank Bascombe novels (“The Sportswriter,” “Independence Day,” “The Lay of the Land” and “Let Me Be Frank With You”) as well as the recent novel, “Canada.” His short story collections include “Rock Springs” and “Women with Men.”
Ford won the 1995 Pulitzer Prize for fiction for his “Independence Day” and in 2015 he was a finalist for the fiction prize with “Let Me Be Frank with You.” In 2016 he won the Princess of Asturias Prize in Spain. Ford lives in East Boothbay.
The event is free, and open to the public. There will be a book signing following the reading.
