GORHAM — Emma Shields tripled and drove in three runs, and Gorham scored nine runs in the bottom of the fifth inning Thursday to rally for a 13-12 win over Biddeford in an SMAA softball game.
Grace McGouldrick, Kali Perry and Kiana Tracey each drove in a pair of runs for Gorham (5-1), which trailed 8-4 before its big rally.
Alex Chase drove in three runs for Biddeford (1-5).
YARMOUTH 5, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 1: Ceanne Lyon pitched a two-hitter and the Clippers (5-0) scored four runs in the first inning in a win over the Raiders (5-2) in Yarmouth.
Sophia McGrath hit a two-run homer for Yarmouth.
Tasha Powers led Fryeburg with two hits, including an RBI single in the third inning.
Lyon (4-1) allowed four walks and struck out one.
PORTLAND 4, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: Jessica Brown pitched four perfect innings of relief and had three hits to lead the Bulldogs (6-1) over the Red Riots (1-6) in Portland.
Sydney Gilbert pitched the first three innings for Portland, allowing three hits and one walk with three strikeouts. Brown struck out seven, and she hit a triple to highlight a three-run sixth inning.
WELLS 4, GRAY 3: The Warriors (6-0) built a 3-0 lead in the second inning and held on to beat the Patriots (3-2) in Gray-New Gloucester.
Hannah Moody hit an RBI double and scored on Anya Chase’s single to give Wells its three-run lead.
Allison Martell tripled to start the sixth inning for Gray-New Gloucester, then Isabella Brindley hit an RBI single and eventually scored on a fielding error to make it 3-2.
Wells padded its lead with a run in the top of the seventh before Martell drove in Cara Waltz with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh.
Chase picked up the win, striking out eight in a complete game.
MASSABESIC 8, MAINE GIRLS’ ACADEMY/FALMOUTH 7: Winning pitcher Grace Tutt homered for the Mustangs (6-1) in a win over the Lions (2-4) in Portland.
Megan Faucher hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning to cut the Mustangs’ lead to 6-5. Both teams scored once in the sixth and once in the seventh.
BONNY EAGLE 14, WESTBROOK 9: Nell Spencer, Mackenzie Emery and Makala Greene each had two hits for the Scots (1-5) in a win over the Blue Blazes (1-5) in Westbrook.
Sadie Denico was the winning pitcher, allowing three earned runs and three walks with five strikeouts in five-plus innings.
Angelica Johns and Kiana Fuller had two hits apiece for Westbrook, which scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh.
SCARBOROUGH 27, DEERING 0: Lilly Volk struck out 10 in a two-hitter and also drove in four runs as the Red Storm (6-0) beat the Rams (1-3) in a five-inning game in Scarborough.
Courtney Brochu also had four RBI, and Isabella Dickinson and Chloe Griffin each had three. Scarborough drew 13 walks.
Sydney Giroux hit a double for Deering.
KENNEBUNK 13, CAPE ELIZABETH 0: Lydia Howarth had two hits and threw a two-hitter as the Rams (4-4) beat the Capers (2-4) in five innings in Cape Elizabeth.
Brittany Gregoire and Samantha Henry also had two hits for the Rams, who scored seven runs in the fifth to invoke the mercy rule.
Kelly O’Sullivan had two hits for Cape Elizabeth.

KENNEBUNK 10, GREELY 6: Hallie Schwartzman scored three goals and Mia Banglmaier had two goals and an assist as the Rams (2-1) beat the Rangers (2-2) in Cumberland.
Briannagh Beaudette also scored twice for Kennebunk.
Ellie Schad scored three goals for Greely, and Jayme Morrison had a goal and an assist.
SCARBOROUGH 13, SOUTH PORTLAND 11: Ellie Smith scored six goals as the Red Storm (1-3) beat the Red Riots (1-4) in Scarborough.
Kaya Backman and Jena Leckie each had three goals for South Portland, which erased most of an 11-4 deficit.
MASSABESIC 9, THORNTON ACADEMY 4: Madison Drain scored five goals and set up another as the Mustangs (4-0) beat the Trojans (3-2) in Saco.
Morgan Pike added two goals and an assist.
Amanda Cyr, Mackenzie Basile, Alana Pettaway and Hannah McAlary scored for Thornton.
MARSHWOOD 11, GORHAM 3: Hannah Costin scored four goals and Marin Smith added three as the Hawks (3-2) beat the Rams (1-4) in South Berwick.
Luci Albers added two goals and an assist for Marshwood, which outscored Gorham 8-2 in the second half.
Hallie Shiers scored two goals for Gorham.
CHEVERUS 16, DEERING 3: Bella Booth scored six goals and Brooke McElman added five as the Stags (2-2) beat the Rams (2-2) in Portland.
Molly Flaherty added a goal and six assists for Cheverus, which led 12-0 at halftime.
Alli Donovan scored all three goals for Deering.
BIDDEFORD 16, SANFORD 3: Peyton McKeown scored five goals to lead the Tigers (5-0) over the Spartans (2-3) in Sanford.
Paige Laverriere added two goals, and Ella McKenzie and Eliza Gilliam combined for 16 saves for Biddeford.
Maddie Leigh, Valentina Drown and Eva Belanger scored for Sanford.
WINDHAM 14, BONNY EAGLE 2: Mya Mannette recorded five goals and an assist as the Eagles (4-0) cruised past the Scots (2-2) in Windham.
Lauren Black added two goals and three assists, and Belle Skvorak and Allana Joyce also scored twice.
Windham led 6-0 at halftime.
Catherine Biegel and Polly Rae scored for Bonny Eagle.
MORSE 12, GARDINER 7: Amanda Gagne scored four goals and set up another for the Shipbuilders (4-1) in a win over the Tigers (1-1) in Gardiner.
Karen Yurek, Noa Sreden and Emily Belanger each added two goals, and Julia Hinckley made five saves.
BOOTHBAY 17, LAWRENCE 6: Sydney Meader finished with six goals and two assists and Jackie McLoon scored five goals as the Seahawks (3-1) downed the Bulldogs (1-3) in Bar Harbor.
Kate Friant and Lincoln Hamblett each added two goals and an assist for Boothbay, which led 10-2 at halftime.
Cassandra Poli scored four goals for Lawrence.
